We start by pumping out any standing water, then move straight into liner installation and humidity control.
Chattanooga, TN crawl spaces vary a lot in how they were originally built, and a liner that's correct for one home can be undersized for another depending on foot traffic and storage use. We size thickness to how the space is actually used.
Every crew member is trained specifically on liner installation, seam sealing, and vent encapsulation, not general basement work.
Chattanooga, TN crawl space calls get scheduled fast, especially when there's standing water or an active mold smell involved.
Pricing is based on your crawl space's actual square footage and condition, quoted in writing before liner installation begins.
A dedicated crawl space dehumidifier is sized to your square footage, not a one-size-fits-all unit.
Every Chattanooga, TN Crawl Space Encapsulation job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.
Before any liner goes down, we pump out existing standing water and remove debris left behind by prior drainage failures.
We install heavy-duty liner rated for crawl space conditions, sealed at every seam and pier to stop ground moisture from reaching the floor joists.
Sealed vents are paired with mechanical dehumidification so the space doesn't just trap humidity instead of venting it.
We route discharge lines well away from the foundation so pumped water doesn't just cycle back in.
Exposed ductwork inside an unencapsulated crawl space collects condensation, which we address by insulating and sealing ducts while the space is open.
We ask about standing water, musty odor, and vent condition to gauge scope before scheduling the inspection.
We take humidity and moisture readings to establish a baseline before recommending a system.
We explain trade-offs between liner thickness options so you can choose what fits your budget and goals.
We re-test humidity after installation to confirm the space is holding at a healthy level before we consider the job done.
"Found out our old vapor barrier had huge gaps at every seam. They redid it properly and sealed the vents too."
— Chattanooga Homeowner
"Sump discharge from the old system was dumping water right back next to the foundation. They rerouted it and the crawl space finally dried out."
— Chattanooga Customer
"Access to our crawl space is tight and awkward, but the crew didn't seem bothered by it at all."
— Chattanooga Homeowner
"Humidity reading before was over 80%. After encapsulation it's holding steady in the 50s."

A vapor barrier is just the liner on the ground; full encapsulation seals vents, walls, and often adds a dehumidifier for complete moisture control.
We'll recommend a thickness based on how the space is actually used, not just a default.
In most Chattanooga, TN climates, yes — open vents pull in humid air that undoes a lot of the benefit of the liner alone.
Often yes, if the crawl space is the source — sealing and dehumidifying typically resolves musty odors within a few days of installation.
Yes — we extract existing water first, then proceed with liner and vent sealing once the space is dry enough to work safely.
Spaces with extensive prior water damage or debris may take longer — we'll give you a realistic estimate up front.
